Become a part-time Program Instructor with Kids In Tech in Lowell, MA and inspire the next generation of STEAM leaders!
Are you passionate about STEAM education? As a part-time Program Instructor, you'll have the opportunity to engage young minds, ignite curiosity, and help shape the future of technology and innovation. If you're ready to be a mentor and role model while making STEAM fun and accessible, we want to hear from you!
We are proud to offer our part-time Program Instructor $17.55 - $28.50 per hour, along with great benefits, including:

  • Flexible scheduling that follows all school calendar holidays and breaks

Schedule: This part-time position follows the school calendar, running from October 2024 to June 2025. Each instructor will be required to instruct at a partner site program at least 2 days a week and complete biweekly check-ins with their direct supervisor.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS OUR PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
You prepare engaging lessons and gather hands-on materials to bring technology and engineering concepts to life. By collecting data like photos, attendance, and surveys, you track progress and celebrate successes while building strong relationships with your students. Your classroom is a space of curiosity and discovery, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment. You collaborate with partner site staff to align the KiT STEAM curriculum with student needs and lead dynamic lessons for up to 15 students twice a week. Beyond the classroom, you coordinate field trips, job shadowing, and guest speakers for real-world exposure, while keeping families informed through regular updates and newsletters. Through every lesson and project, you empower young learners to dream big in STEAM.
Here's what we need from you:
  • 16+ years of age
  • High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a high school or college setting
  • United States citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien
  • Resident of Lowell, the Boston area, or has reliable transportation
  • Education or youth development experience
  • STEAM field experience (STEAM major, STEAM clubs, or an interest in STEAM
  • Fluent in multiple languages, preferably Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin, Cape Verdean Creole, or Khmer
  • Enthusiastic and inquisitive
  • Adaptable, possesses a growth mindset
  • Leadership experience
