Job description

As a Provisional Instructor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our students through your expertise and teaching abilities. Join our dynamic team and make a positive impact on the learning journey of our students.
Program Description:
The student instructor program is 500 hours and prepares you to be a licensed instructor to be considered for employment. Qualified candidates accepted into the program will receive a scholarship to cover the cost of tuition. Books, supplies, and the Instructor License are not included.
In this role, you can teach courses in your area of expertise while gaining valuable experience and mentorship as you progress toward becoming a permanent instructor. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about teaching and seeking to build their teaching portfolio.
Responsibilities:
  • Shadow licensed instructors in your area of expertise, following the curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging and interactive lectures, presentations, and discussions to foster student learning.
  • Facilitate classroom activities, group projects, and assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, exams, and projects to support student development.
  • Respond to student inquiries and provide academic support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and instructional improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on advancements and trends in your field to enhance the quality of instruction and share relevant knowledge with students.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current in best practices.
  • Adhere to institutional policies and guidelines, including those related to academic integrity, attendance, and grading.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, departmental committees, and other institutional activities as required.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A successful program candidate must have a Cosmetology or Esthetician license with at least three (3) years of experience in the field.
  • Prior teaching experience, whether as a teaching assistant, lecturer, or other instructional roles, is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in the subject matter of the courses to be taught.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • Passion for education and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and success.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively plan and deliver lessons.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that respects and values student contributions.
