Starting Wage: $23.28-$32.02 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Information Technician reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and functions under the direction and guidance of the Pharmacy Clinical Managers.
In this role, the Pharmacy Info Tech;
  • Provides support services to maintain the pharmacy information systems and other technology used by the pharmacy, nurses, providers, and other healthcare staff.
  • Support services may include, but are not limited to, implementation, integrations, troubleshooting, testing, training, and maintenance of established system applications.
  • Works with data analytics and metrics to generate action plans.
  • Works in partnership with system leadership to produce reports as requested.
  • Interacts with all stakeholders through various phases of implementation, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Coordinates problem resolution with external support services and vendors.
  • Plays an integral part in assisting with drug diversion prevention monitoring.

Qualifications
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • An Associate degree in computer science or a healthcare-related field is preferred

Experience
  • 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician in the acute care setting plus education or experience that provides knowledge of network configuration, operating systems and/or database administration OR 3 years of pharmacy technician experience at Asante with experience in all areas of the pharmacy, including but not limited to, Automated Dispensing Units (ADU), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Pharmacy specific software/hardware.
  • Experience with Windows operating system/PC knowledge is required
  • Understanding of medication distribution and administration workflows by pharmacy, nursing, and providers is required

Required Certifications
  • CPT: Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy is required

ONE of the following is also required:
  • ExCPT: Certified Pharmacy Technician by the National Healthcare Association (NHA)
  • CPhT: Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Preferred Certifications
  • ASHP Pharmacy Informatics Certificate
  • PTCB: Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certificate
