Job Summary:
MDAEdge is seeking an experienced Mainframe CICS Administrator with a strong background in backup and recovery processes. The role involves managing and optimizing backup schedules, ensuring data integrity, and providing support for restoration and storage catalog management.
Responsibilities:
• Execute scheduled backups for all files, including z/OS system data, master, and user catalogs using the Buyer's backup tools.
• Monitor backup job completions to ensure successful execution.
• Regularly schedule and perform restore tests to validate backup data integrity.
• Maintain and enhance the z/OS backup processes, identifying improvements to optimize performance.
• Update Mainframe Backup and Recovery documentation whenever changes occur within the backup system.
• Manage and configure storage parameters, including administering Client routines.
• Define storage tiering strategies based on customer requirements.
• Perform comprehensive storage catalog management, ensuring data is systematically organized.
• Provide DASD and tape allocation support to meet storage demands.
• Coordinate with application and business teams to adjust retention periods and ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Offer support for restoration of datasets, addition of new volumes, and increasing scratch tape counts when needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Mainframe CICS Administration.
