GENERAL SUMMARY:Under general supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a microbiology laboratory. Duties usually consist of setting samples for microbial testing; making dilutions of food and environmental samples, setting samples for pathogens testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs laboratory work according to prescribed standards.

  • Determines microbial loads in food and environmental samples.

  • Sets up, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.

  • Analyzes samples. Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards

  • Tests samples to verify conformity to specifications. Records test results.

  • Cleans laboratory equipment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
EDUCATION: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
