What is a day laboratory cleaner?

Day Laboratory Cleaners are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in laboratory environments during daytime hours. Their duties typically include cleaning floors, surfaces, and equipment; disposing of waste according to safety protocols; and ensuring that the lab remains sanitary and safe for research activities. They may also handle the restocking of cleaning supplies and report any maintenance needs. By following strict procedures, Day Laboratory Cleaners help prevent contamination and support the efficient operation of laboratory workspaces.

Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, proper waste disposal procedures, and safety equipment like gloves and goggles is typically required. Reliability, time management, and the ability to follow strict instructions are important soft skills for this role. These skills ensure a safe, sanitary laboratory environment that supports scientific work and prevents contamination or accidents.
