Job description

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Retail amp; Rental Supervisor to lead daily operations at our unique destination on Cayo Costa Island, a pristine barrier island on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Cayo Costa Hospitality, LLC operates a small retail space, kayak and beach rentals, and the campground on the island. This role requires a dynamic, resourceful leader passionate about guest experience, and operational excellence in a remote environment. Whether it's welcoming a first-time camper, coordinating logistics, or ensuring your team has what they need to thrive, you’ll be shaping meaningful guest experiences from sunrise to sunset!

Job Expectations:
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Retail and Rental team understands the Company’s strategies and expectations
  • Assist in all phases of retail and rental operations
  • Receive and process merchandise invoices
  • Restock merchandise and ensure adequate merchandise levels on the sales floors of Gift Store(s)
  • Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point of sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards and making change and ensure that Retail staff understands and efficiently performs the same
  • Prepare end of shift report, deposit receipts and cash
  • Assist in maintaining all data tracking and corporate spreadsheets
  • Provide timely and accurate weekly financial retail reports for senior management
  • Assist the Retail Sales Associates as needed
  • Actively foster a positive work environment with a focus on teamwork

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Must be computer proficient in Word and Excel
  • Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Majority of shift will be spent on feet, up to 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Position involves frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting.
  • Must complete FL approved Boating Safety Course

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Two (2) years retail experience preferred;
  • One (1) year supervisory experience preferred
