About Veryon
Veryon is the leading global provider of aviation software and information services, trusted by over 5000+ customers, 75,000 maintenance professionals, and 100+ OEMs across nearly 150 countries. Our mission is to deliver smarter, predictive technology solutions, including our AI platform, Veryon AIRE that maximizes aircraft uptime and operational efficiency for the world's most demanding aviation organizations.
At Veryon, we are an AI-forward company focused on driving innovation and efficiency through emerging technologies. We prioritize hiring individuals who embrace AI, think creatively about its application, and are excited to continuously evolve alongside it.
About the Role
Veryon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML) to lead the design, development, and scaling of intelligent systems that enhance aviation maintenance, diagnostics, and operational insights.
This role focuses on advancing AI-driven capabilities across Veryon's product suite, including NLP clustering, anomaly detection, and aircraft telemetry analysis. You will work at the intersection of machine learning, aviation data, and distributed systems-building production-grade AI solutions that combine generative AI, telemetry data, and domain expertise.
As a senior engineer, you will also mentor team members, influence technical direction, and ensure best practices in building scalable AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
AI/ML Development & Innovation
  • Enhance NLP clustering algorithms using Generative AI (LLMs, embeddings, semantic clustering)
  • Design and implement text embedding pipelines for PDFs and maintenance logs
  • Build statistical and ML models for pattern recognition and anomaly detection
  • Embed aircraft-specific context into AI models for improved diagnostics

Aviation Data Analysis
  • Correlate pilot and maintenance defect reports with aircraft sensor data
  • Correlate defect data to find re-occurring problems and drive actionable prescriptive insights
  • Support predictive maintenance and diagnostics model development

Product Engineering & Scalability
  • Build and maintain Python-based AI systems supporting 1000+ concurrent users
  • Develop scalable APIs and microservices for AI capabilities
  • Ensure high performance, reliability, and observability of AI systems
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate AI features

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership
  • Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and apply them to product innovation

Requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong AI/ML focus
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and building production systems
  • Experience with NLP, embeddings, and machine learning models
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data
  • Strong understanding of scalable systems and cloud environments
  • Proven experience supporting high-concurrency applications
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers

Preferred Skills
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI and LLMs
  • Knowledge of aviation systems, telemetry, or maintenance workflows
  • Experience with anomaly detection and statistical modeling
  • Familiarity with MLOps (deployment, monitoring, model lifecycle)
  • Experience with vector databases and semantic search
  • Background in processing technical documents (PDFs, logs)
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture

AI Competency Expectations
  • Generative AI: Deep understanding of LLMs, embeddings, and agentic workflows
  • NLP Expertise: Strong capabilities in clustering, semantic search, and text processing
  • Machine Learning: Advanced understanding of model development and evaluation
  • Anomaly Detection: Ability to identify patterns and outliers in complex datasets
  • Data Fusion: Experience combining telemetry, logs, and documents into AI systems
  • Production AI: Proven ability to deploy and scale AI systems reliably

Our Core Values:
  • Fueled by Customers: Customers are at the core of every decision.
  • Win Together: Collaboration is our competitive edge.
  • Make It Happen: No excuses. Just outcomes.
  • Innovate to Elevate: We boldly challenge what's standard and lift what's possible.
