Alief ISD is hiring 5 Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for the upcoming school year. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, supportive district with multiple placement options across elementary and middle school settings.

Start Date: August 31, 2026
Contract Length: 45 weeks
Hours: 37 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Interview: Virtual (with district Speech Coordinator)

Compensation:

• Local: $65 per hour
• Travel: Weekly take-home approx. $2,521 (includes housing and meals)

Position Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy services to students with speech and language needs. This includes supporting IEP development, case management, and collaboration with staff and families to ensure student success.

Available Placements

• Herne Elementary (SLP-CCC or CF)

  • Caseload: ~99 students
  • Responsibilities: Therapy, evaluations, case management, supervision of an experienced SLPA (3 days/week)

• Killough & Olle Middle Schools (SLP-CCC)

  • Caseload: Approx. 62 (Olle) and 46 (Killough)
  • Focus: Therapy, primarily re-evaluations, and case management
  • Typically lower caseloads with dismissal consideration

• Youens Elementary (Bilingual SLP-CCC or CF)

  • Caseload: ~130 students (split between clinicians)
  • Responsibilities: Therapy, evaluations, case management
  • CCC required to supervise CF (district can provide supervision if needed)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations and re-evaluations
• Provide direct therapy services based on IEP goals
• Manage caseloads and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise support staff or CFs when applicable

Requirements

• Active SLP license in the state of assignment
• CCC-SLP preferred (CF candidates accepted for select roles)
• Bilingual skills required for designated elementary role
• Ability to manage caseloads and collaborate effectively
