Job description

Reporting to Transportation and Fleet Operations Manager, the temporary Transportation Driver provides evening campus safety shuttle transportation as well as daytime transportation for student groups, faculty and guests of the university.
Responsibilities include:

  • Transport students and faculty as scheduled.
  • Drop off vehicles for regularly scheduled maintenance.
  • Refuel and ensure cleanliness of vehicles at end of shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This is an on-campus position working up to 20 hours per week for approximately eight (8) months. Most driving remains within the state of Connecticut.

Shifts Include

  • Nights (630pm-1030pm or 1030-230a)
  • Weekends and some holidays are required
  • Occasional daytime shifts for field trips and special events

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Must have a valid CT driver's license (minimum 3 years) and clean driving record.
  • Must be flexible to accommodate fluctuating schedules of student groups.
  • At least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Experience operating 12 passenger vans and 14 passenger mini coaches.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of driving experience,
  • Experience transporting students,
  • Passenger endorsement.
