The role offers valuable experience in acute care and exposure to a diverse patient population, which can open doors to advanced nursing roles within DaVita or hospital systems.

What is a DaVita Acute RN?

A DaVita Acute RN is a registered nurse who specializes in providing dialysis treatment to patients with kidney failure in a hospital (acute care) setting. These nurses work for DaVita, a leading provider of kidney care services, and are responsible for managing patients' dialysis treatments, monitoring their health during procedures, and collaborating with hospital staff to ensure quality care. Acute RNs often respond to urgent or complex cases, including those in intensive care units or emergency rooms, and must be skilled in managing critical situations. Their role is crucial in supporting patients through serious or sudden kidney-related health issues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a DaVita Acute RN?

To thrive as a DaVita Acute RN, you need a strong background in acute dialysis nursing, critical care, and an active RN license, often with experience in nephrology or hospital settings. Familiarity with dialysis machines, electronic health records (EHRs), and safety protocols is essential, and certifications like BLS and ACLS are typically required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and the ability to stay calm under pressure help you support patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital teams. These skills and qualifications are crucial for delivering safe, effective dialysis care to patients with complex medical needs in acute settings.
