TheConstruction Engineering Services Practice is seeking a SeniorConstruction InspectorinCoeur d'Alene,ID.

In thisposition,you will provideon-site constructioninspectionsand applicable documentation for transportation projects. This includes observation of construction work activities for compliance with plans and specifications, preparation of required contract documentation, and following prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures consistent with State and Local guidelines.

This role will be based out of Coeurd'Alene,IDandtypicallyworksa 40hour, Monday-Friday schedule, with mosttimespent in the field and occasional office work as needed. Standard hours are around 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but actual hours and shifts may vary based on contractor schedules and project needs. Evening or weekend work may berequired, andwe aim to provide advance notice whenever possible.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, perform, and/or supervise technical engineering work in
    the field.
  • Inspect,observe,andensure thata construction project is constructed in
    accordance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Maintainaccuratedailywork reports(labor, equipment, materials, quantities).
  • Identifycontract changes andassistin preparation of change orders.
  • Communicate effectively with the Contractors, Owners, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, or other field staff.
  • Preparepay item reportsfor progress payments.
  • Coordinatetherequiredmaterials,samples,and testing.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced inspectors on the team.
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • 9-15years of experience withprogressively complex construction inspection experience.
  • ProficiencyinMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook,and Teams).
  • Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, the public, as well as peers and subordinates.
  • Excellent skills in working independentlyin the field.
  • The successful candidate must be able to effectively multitask and prioritize and track construction issuesthroughcompletion.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record,requiredfor field assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • 3-7years of construction inspection experience working on large roadways,bridges,and highway projects.
  • WAQTCsand ITDInspectorQualifications Program Certs (IQPs)
  • Has extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts,practices,and proceduresinthe construction field.
  • ITDproject experience(ODOT and WSDOTare alsoconsidered).
  • ITDInspector Certifications(ODOT and WSDOTare alsoconsidered).
  • Experience inspecting Federally funded projects.
