Job Summary

The Business Solution Engineer at Systel is responsible for designing, building, and supporting practical business solutions using Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and related tools. This position helps the IT Business Solutions team translate business needs into reliable technical solutions that improve workflows, automation, collaboration, and data visibility across the organization.

Systel needs this role to strengthen its ability to reduce manual processes and support business teams with faster, scalable solutions that allow us to do more with less effort.

Roles / Responsibilities:

Microsoft Solutions Design and Delivery

  • Design, build, and support business solutions using Microsoft 365, Azure, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Develop solutions that improve process efficiency, collaboration, automation, and data visibility.
  • Evaluate technical options and recommend approaches that fit business needs.
  • Maintain solution documentation, design notes, and support handoff materials.

Microsoft 365 and Azure Platform Solutions

  • Build and enhance solutions across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and Azure services.
  • Configure cloud-based services, workflows, integrations, and automation where appropriate.
  • Support identity, access, security, and governance requirements in partnership with IT stakeholders.
  • Monitor solution performance, reliability, and adoption after implementation.
  • Stay current on Microsoft platform capabilities and recommend useful improvements.

Business Partnership and Requirements Gathering

  • Work with business teams to understand needs, pain points, and process gaps.
  • Convert business needs into clear solution requirements.
  • Partner with IT Business Solutions team members to prioritize and deliver high-value work.
  • Communicate technical recommendations clearly to business and technical audiences.
  • Support user acceptance testing, training, and post-launch adoption.

Solution Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft-based business solutions and related integrations.
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams to resolve technical problems.
  • Improve existing solutions based on user feedback, performance data, and business changes.
  • Support release planning, change management, and production readiness activities.
  • Maintain a strong focus on reliability, usability, and long-term maintainability.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing, building, or supporting Microsoft-based business solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure in a business or enterprise environment.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft certification in Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, or related technologies.
