Job description

Job Title and Location

Engineer Senior – Pulse Point location at 8600 W Bryn Mawr Ave., Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631. The role requires in‑office presence 1–2 days per week, supporting a hybrid work policy that also allows virtual work. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and lead requirements gathering meetings.
  • Own the change request process and coordinate with other teams as necessary.
  • Provide technical advice and weigh in on technical decisions that impact cross‑functional teams.
  • Research and propose new technologies.
  • Develop and own a list of final enhancements.
  • Define application scope and objectives, and prepare technical and/or functional specifications.
  • Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
  • Own technical testing to ensure unit tests are completed, meet the test plan requirements, and that system testing and implementation align with the plan.
  • Assess current status and support data information planning.
  • Coordinate on‑call support and ensure effective monitoring of the system.
  • Maintain the technical development environment.
  • Mentor others and may lead multiple or small to medium‑sized projects.
  • Set direction at the project/service level and influence decision‑making.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Understand tradeoffs between technical, analytical and product needs of technical solutions.
  • Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting the team, communicate standards and secure buy‑in on solutions.
  • Facilitate group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
  • Support vendor evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of development, engineering, or related experience.
Experience Requirements
  • Analytical experience working with large datasets in the healthcare domain.
  • Knowledge of EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EZConnect, and HL7.
  • Experience with data security best practices and standards such as HIPAA for healthcare data interchange and encryption methods and data privacy regulations.
  • ETL development using DataStage, SSIS, C#, or Python.
  • SQL programming for writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers using Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, or MongoDB.
  • Experience managing end‑to‑end data‑related projects, including requirements gathering, planning, execution, and monitoring.
Alternate Education / Experience Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and three years of development, engineering, or related experience.
  • Must have skills listed above.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $153,317 – $154,317 per year for the Chicago, IL location.
