Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Warehouse Architect / Senior ETL Developer to support large-scale enterprise data modernization and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in IBM DataStage, IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D), Teradata 20, and enterprise ETL development. This role focuses on modernizing legacy data integration solutions, developing scalable ETL pipelines, optimizing enterprise data processing, and supporting data governance initiatives within a complex enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, database administrators, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data integration solutions while driving continuous improvement and modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, enhance, and optimize enterprise ETL solutions using IBM DataStage.
  • Build and maintain DataStage parallel jobs, server jobs, job sequences, and performance optimization solutions.
  • Support migration of legacy DataStage workloads to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D), including modernization, refactoring, testing, and validation.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL and BTEQ scripts for Teradata 20 supporting enterprise reporting and analytics.
  • Create automation solutions using Python, Shell scripting, and XML for ETL workflows and data processing.
  • Implement Master Data Management (MDM), data quality, and data governance best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, DBAs, analysts, business users, and technical teams to deliver scalable data integration solutions.
  • Perform ETL troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, documentation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity, scalability, reliability, and performance across enterprise data platforms.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience developing enterprise ETL solutions using IBM DataStage.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D).
  • 3+ years of experience with Teradata 20, including SQL, BTEQ, and performance optimization.
  • 5+ years of Unix/Linux scripting and system administration experience.
  • 3+ years of advanced SQL development supporting ETL and enterprise analytics.
  • Experience developing automation solutions using Python.
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), data quality, and data governance principles.
  • Proven ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable ETL solutions.
  • Experience working within large enterprise data environments supporting multiple data sources.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting public health, healthcare, or state government organizations.
  • Prior experience supporting State of Michigan projects or other public-sector environments.
  • Experience with IBM Knowledge Catalog, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Exposure to IBM Manta for lineage and impact analysis.
  • Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud-native platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and Agile development methodologies.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
