Job description

This opportunity is for a Staff Pharmacist to provide quality pharmaceutical care in a retail pharmacy setting located in Long Beach, CA. This per diem position offers flexible scheduling within established pharmacy hours and supports a moderate prescription volume.
Responsibilities include accurately dispensing medications, counseling patients on proper medication use, verifying prescriptions, managing inventory, and collaborating with pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth workflow. The pharmacist ensures compliance with state regulations and maintains detailed records.
Pharmacy Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Key Qualifications:
  • Active California Pharmacist License required
  • Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong communication and patient counseling skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team (1 Pharmacist + 1 Technician)
  • Familiarity with pharmacy systems such as Datascan is a plus but not mandatory
Work Environment and Volume:
  • Retail pharmacy setting with an average of 60-70 prescriptions processed daily
