Job description

Job title: Site Security Manager

Reports to: Campus Security Manager

Location: Manassas, VA (On-site)

About our team

We are a dynamic, dedicated team that provides management and support for a global guarding services account that spans across 30+ countries. Our client is an industry-leading datacenter organization, and we pride ourselves in delivering best-in-class solutions through our teams made up of Security Operations, Operations Support, Business Operations, Environmental Health and Safety, and Human Resources. As part of this team, youโ€™ll work alongside a group of professionals that are committed to excellence and innovation.

About the role

The Site Security Manager (SSM) serves as the day-to-day manager of a 24/7 datacenter physical security operations team, supporting a clientโ€™s datacenter or other critical facility. Reporting to a Campus Security Manager (CSM), the SSM builds a cohesive, high-performing team that delivers a safe, secure, and compliant environment while meeting client expectations. The SSM also collaborates with other campus security leaders to maintain consistent security standards across the campus. Additional responsibilities may include client service and issue resolution, service enhancements, Security Operations Center (SOC) systems maintenance, audit compliance, system monitoring, log and documentation maintenance, and access rights administration. Based on coverage needs, the SSM may be required to support and provide leadership coverage at other assigned sites within the campus/region in addition to their primary site.

What youโ€™ll do

In this role, the Site Security Manager (SSM) leads the onโ€‘site security team and oversees dayโ€‘toโ€‘day security operations within a 24/7 environment. You are responsible for directly managing security personnel, including administrative officers, responders, control room staff, and other security team members, while ensuring consistent staffing coverage and operational continuity.

You partner with local leadership to support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development. This includes coaching and mentoring team members, setting expectations, and managing performance and corrective actions in line with company policy. You also work closely with client leadership across multiple business groups to support site operations. Operationally, you ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.

You monitor site performance and key metrics, identify risks or security gaps, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement. You maintain required documentation, logs, and reports, oversee onโ€‘site security systems such as access control, CCTV, and incident management tools, and support audits, inspections, and other compliance activities.

The role requires clear, professional communication with clients and internal partners, including leading meetings and presentations. You escalate significant events and risks as needed, promote safe work practices, handle sensitive information with discretion, and support additional operational needs as they arise.

What you need to apply

To apply for this role, you should have an associate degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in the security industry, including 3+ years of managing people. Experience leading teams in a security and/or datacenter environment is strongly preferred. You should also have handsโ€‘on experience with security technologies such as CCTV, access control systems, incident management tools, and video surveillance platforms. Strong, practical proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected, as reporting, documentation, and operational tracking are essential parts of the role.

This position is best suited for a proven people leader who is comfortable balancing operational leadership, administrative accountability, and clientโ€‘facing responsibilities within a 24/7 security environment.

All applicants must have reliable means of communication and transportation (public or private) to travel to and from work, the legal right to work in the country where the position is located, and proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English and a common local language (where applicable).

Applicants must also be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (such as during emergencies or highโ€‘priority events). Applicants must be able to meet and continue to meet licensing requirements for security officers, as applicable to local, county, state and/or country laws and regulations.

What youโ€™ll get

We offer more than just a job; we offer the chance to be part of a collaborative and supportive team where your contributions are valued and your growth matters. In this role, you will thrive in a dynamic environment while supporting a prestigious multinational client account. You will gain exposure to global operations and cross-regional collaboration, and you will have access to continuous learning, training programs, and career development opportunities designed to help you succeed.

The extra stuff

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the job location, and willing to complete the companyโ€™s preโ€‘employment screening, including a background check and drug screening. This role may require evening, overnight, or weekend work, particularly during emergencies or highโ€‘priority events. Work may occur in outdoor or inclement weather or environments requiring protective gear and heightened safety awareness.

This standardized global job description is intended to define the core responsibilities and requirements of the Site Security Manager role across regions. Local addenda may be applied to address country-specific legal, regulatory, language, or clearance requirements without altering the core role definition.
