Databricks Internships typically focus on working with the Databricks platform, Spark, and cloud-based data solutions. Data Engineer Internships involve building and maintaining data pipelines, working with databases, and cloud infrastructure. Both roles require programming skills and familiarity with cloud services, but Databricks Internships are more platform-specific, while Data Engineer Internships cover broader data engineering tasks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Databricks Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Databricks Intern, you should have a solid background in computer science, programming (especially Python, Scala, or SQL), and data analytics, often supported by relevant coursework or project experience. Familiarity with big data platforms like Apache Spark, cloud services (AWS, Azure), and version control systems such as Git is highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and effective communication help interns collaborate and grow within diverse technical teams. These skills and qualities are crucial for contributing to real-world data projects and maximizing the learning experience during the internship.

What types of projects and responsibilities can Databricks interns expect to work on during their internship?

Databricks interns typically work on impactful, real-world projects alongside full-time engineers or data scientists. You may contribute to product features, optimize data pipelines, or help improve machine learning models, depending on your team placement. Interns are encouraged to collaborate cross-functionally, participate in code reviews, and attend team meetings, gaining exposure to agile development practices and cloud technologies. This hands-on experience fosters strong technical growth and provides valuable insight into fast-paced, collaborative tech environments.

What are Databricks internships?

Databricks internships are structured programs that offer students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with data engineering, machine learning, and cloud technologies at Databricks. Interns typically work on real-world projects alongside experienced engineers, data scientists, and business professionals. These internships provide mentorship, training, and networking opportunities, and are a valuable way to learn about the tech industry and Databricks’ culture. They are available in a variety of roles, including software engineering, product management, and data science.

Job description

About Reingold
Reingold is a full-service marketing and creative firm in Alexandria, VA. For more than 40 years, we’ve been driven by a simple mission: to help organizations –– whether in the government, nonprofit, or business sector –– as they strive to make the world a better place. We hire top-notch talent to develop and launch compelling, inventive communications campaigns, leveraging the latest technology and digital media strategies that enable our clients to meet their audiences where they are.
We’re proud to say we’ve built a team of curious, passionate pros — from marketers and tech wizards to designers and strategists — who love what they do and bring their A-game every day. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We believe great ideas come from collaboration, humor, and a little bit of fun along the way.
That's where you come in. We’re looking for someone who loves figuring out new technology — whether it’s a platform you’ve never touched, a coding language you haven’t learned yet, or an AI tool that launched last week. You’re the kind of person who tinkers until things work, enjoys solving technical puzzles, and gets excited about using data and automation to make marketing smarter and more effective.
As a Data and AI Marketing Intern, you’ll support the development, execution, and optimization of data-driven marketing tools and campaigns across a variety of clients and goals. Sitting at the intersection of marketing and engineering, this role involves hands-on coding, data wrangling, and technical problem-solving. You may write SQL to build and audit audiences, use Python and AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or Cursor to automate workflows, or work across platforms like Salesforce, Adobe, Google Cloud Platform, and Databricks as our data infrastructure evolves.
Working closely with digital and account teams, you’ll help bring automated campaigns to life, build tools to measure and visualize performance, apply industry best practices, and contribute fresh ideas in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is analytical, curious, detail-oriented, and eager to build expertise in marketing automation, data analytics, and AI while seeing the direct impact of their work on customer engagement and campaign performance.
Internships at Reingold are full-time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20. The internship class begins on Thursday, June 18, 2026, and runs through Friday, November 20, 2026.  Core hours during the internship are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. This internship requires five in-office days (Monday – Friday) at our office in Alexandria, Virginia.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Help research, prototype, and build AI agents and workflow automations that enable clients and internal teams to work more efficiently — from scoping use cases to testing and iterating on solutions.
  • Write SQL queries to build targeted audience segments, audit data extensions, and maintain data quality standards across CRM and activation platforms.
  • Use Python (leveraging AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor) to automate repetitive marketing workflows, data transformations, and reporting pipelines.
  • Support data field mapping from Salesforce Data Cloud to activation platforms (SFMC/Adobe), ensuring accurate identity resolution and personalization.
  • Assist in exploring and operationalizing GCP and Databricks integrations as the team expands its data infrastructure and pipeline capabilities.
  • Build responsive email templates and perform QA to verify dynamic content, UTM tracking, and brand standards across all devices.

A Reingold intern must:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, data science, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Build and follow timelines and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess a collaborative, team-player attitude.
  • Be eager to learn by doing and take initiative.
  • Be able to receive and incorporate peer feedback.
  • Have a basic understanding of how code works — and an eagerness to learn tools like Claude Code or Cursor

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (GCP, Databricks, or similar) preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) preferred but not required.
