Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to support our reporting modernization initiatives. This internship will provide hands-on experience working with Databricks, business intelligence tools, and AI-assisted development platforms while contributing to the migration of existing Power BI dashboards into the Databricks environment.

This role offers a combination of learning opportunities and contributing meaningfully to team projects. The intern will collaborate with data and analytics team members to learn Databricks dashboard development, leverage AI-assisted coding and productivity tools such as Databricks Genie, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT, and help establish a scalable process for future dashboard migrations.

This is a short-term internship opportunity requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week for 4-6 weeks.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Learn and become proficient in the organization's Databricks environment and dashboard development capabilities.
  • Analyze existing Power BI dashboards to understand data sources, metrics, calculations, visualizations, and reporting requirements.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools, including Databricks Genie, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT, to support dashboard conversion and development efforts.
  • Recreate and validate Power BI dashboards within Databricks while maintaining consistency in business logic, calculations, and visual presentation.
  • Test and verify dashboard functionality, data accuracy, and performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities to improve reporting processes.
  • Create documentation outlining migration methodologies, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Assist in developing a repeatable framework that streamlines future dashboard migration efforts.
  • Maintain data quality standards and support reporting governance requirements.
