Job description

Overview:
Role: Database Security Architect
Location: Austin, TX or Sunnyvale, CA (onsite 5x/ week)
Duration: 6 months
Design, implement, and enforce database security policies, access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
Monitor database activity for anomalies, suspicious access, and potential breaches using SIEM and security monitoring tools.
Securely configure and manage relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Open search.).
Respond to and investigate database security incidents, breaches, or unauthorized access.
Maintain and tune logging, auditing, and monitoring tools for proactive threat detection.
Collaborate with IT, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure database environments meet security standards.
Develop and maintain documentation for policies, procedures, and secure database configurations.
Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating security tasks.
Experience with Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools (preferred).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication.
