AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking our next TMAC Database Administrator III !!! 

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking TMAC Database Administrator III (COMSEC RESPONSIBLE OFFICER) by ASC, to support the NISSC 3 program at Peterson Space Force Base. These positions will manage, maintain, and support the databases integral to TMAC operations, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security in support of development, integration, test, and sustainment activities. The TMAC Database Administrator III will coordinate closely with system administrators, engineering staff, and COMSEC leadership to maintain compliant, secure, and highly available database environments in a TS/SCI setting.


• Manage, maintain, and support databases integral to TMAC operations, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance across development, integration, test, and sustainment environments.
• Perform database account management, including creation, modification, and removal of user accounts and roles in accordance with security and least-privilege principles.
• Conduct database backups, restorations, and recovery operations; maintain and document backup schedules, logs, and validation activities.
• Implement database security updates, patches, and configuration changes to maintain compliance with DoD and program security requirements.
• Perform regular monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and resource utilization adjustments.
• Document maintenance actions, configuration changes, and issue resolutions in accordance with operational and data integrity standards.
• Provide user support and, as needed, training on database-related tools, access, and procedures.
• Coordinate with systems administrators and engineering staff to support upgrades, configuration changes, and problem resolution impacting database-dependent applications and services.
• Ensure compliance with operational requirements, documentation standards, and audit/compliance needs related to database operations.
• Generate and maintain data management deliverables, including backup logs, security artifact records, and support documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
• Support integration of database operations with broader TMAC infrastructure, including platform engineering, server administration, and network support as required by the mission.


• 10 years of relevant experience, including significant hands-on work in system/database administration within secure, mission-critical environments.
• 5–7 years of System Administration experience (Windows and/or Red Hat) supporting complex operational or lab environments.
• 5–7 years of experience serving as a COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) or in a comparable COMSEC account management role.
• At least 1 year of experience managing Microtech disk publishers, including configuration, calibration, and monitoring.
• Skilled in platform engineering (e.g., Tanzu, Kubernetes), server administration (Windows/Red Hat), and/or network engineering.
• Experience with Optical Media Tracking and disk cloning operations using Logicube drive cloners.
• Skilled in one or more of the following:
– Network configuration and configuration backups
– Configuration, calibration, and monitoring of Microtech disk publishers
– Technical Control operations
– Network and NSX engineering
– COMSEC account management
– SISP system live mission support
– Test Bed Administrator and integration support for space systems
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams (systems, network, security, engineering) to support upgrades, configuration changes, and problem resolution.
• Strong documentation skills and experience generating logs, records, and compliance artifacts suitable for audit and inspection.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field,
OR Equivalent DoD/Military training in database administration, systems administration, or a related technical discipline.

• Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.

• Holds Security+ certification.
• Holds VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) and VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications.
• Holds a DoD 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred:
– Cloud+
– GSEC
– SSCP
