The Impact you will have in this role:

Seeking an experienced Database Engineer with proven leadership in managing distributed teams, along with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle technologies across on-premises and AWS cloud environments, including RAC, Exadata, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RDS for Oracle, Oracle Database on AWS, and ZDLRA. The ideal candidate will also possess strong scripting skills in at least one programming language, with a demonstrated automation-first mindset.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a distributed DBA engineering team (multiple direct reports)
  • Operational leader for Database Engineering (incidents, escalations, stability)
  • Serve as the day-to-day operations lead for Database Engineering
  • Own and manage production escalations, major incidents, and resolution coordination
  • Support ongoing delivery, releases, and engineering initiatives
  • Resolve complex issues involving multiple dependencies
  • Architect, design, and implement Oracle databases on AWS RDS to ensure data integrity, security, and nearcontinuous availability for critical financial applications
  • Perform database migrations from onpremises Oracle platforms to AWS RDS, ensuring performance, resiliency, and compliance postmigration
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance using AWR/ASH, RDS Performance Insights, CloudWatch, and OEM to meet Tier0/Tier1 SLAs
  • Supporting applications using Data guard, RAC, and Goldengate microservices.
  • Develop, review, and optimize database code including PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, materialized views, and complex SQL
  • Implement and maintain database security controls, including encryption (TDE), data masking, redaction, finegrained auditing, and access governance
  • Design and support disaster recovery solutions using RDS automated backups, snapshots, MultiAZ, and crossregion strategies
  • Participate in production support, oncall rotations, and incident escalations to meet enterprise SLAs

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Handson experience with AWS RDS for Oracle, Oracle Database on AWS and AWS services (CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, VPC, S3, EBS, EC2)
  • Strong knowledge of PL/SQL coding standards, performance tuning, and database internals
  • Experience with OEM, Grafana, Goldengate and related database tooling
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps collaboration models
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, and Jira
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and performancedriven architecture
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Deep expertise in Oracle RAC, Exadata, DataGuard and Oracle ZDLRA
