Job description

Title: ADABAS Database Administrator

Location: Remote

Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Interview: Phone then Video

Required:

• Experience Working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment (3+ years).

• Experience Managing and maintaining all production and non-production databases.

• Experience Performing backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configuring database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models; and defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.

• Experience Optimizing database access and allocating/re-allocating database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.

• Experience as an ADABAS database administrator (DBA) and Software AG products hosted in a mainframe environment.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred:

• Experience with DB2.

Responsibilities:

• Provide IT staff augmentation supporting the daily maintenance and support of the Client's databases;

• Manage and maintain all production and non-production databases;

• Maintain standards and design for physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration;

• Perform backup and recovery on database management systems, configuring database parameters and prototyping designs against logical data models;

• Define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and data warehousing requirements;

• Optimize database access and allocate/reallocate database resources for optimum configuration and performance;

• Submit required weekly status reports, monthly time reports, and technical documentation to the Client's Contract Manager;
