POSITION OVERVIEW: 

We are looking for a SQL Developer / Application DBA to join our DevOps team and play a key role in supporting application deployments, database migrations, and platform reliability. This position bridges the gap between development, database administration, and operations, helping ensure smooth releases and scalable database performance across our environments. 

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL Server expertise, experience managing application databases, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement. 

The role will be based in Orlando, FL and is an in-office position.

JOB SCOPE: 

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases supporting business-critical applications.  
  • Design and implement stored procedures, functions, views, and complex SQL queries.  
  • Support application deployment activities, including database schema changes and release validation.  
  • Plan and execute database migration projects between environments and platforms.  
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps engineers to build reliable deployment and rollback processes.  
  • Automate database deployment, maintenance, and monitoring tasks where possible.  
  • Monitor database performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.  
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues impacting application performance and availability.  
  • Manage database backups, restores, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations.  
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and data integrity standards are maintained.  
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis activities.  
  • Maintain documentation for deployment procedures, migration plans, and database architecture.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience as a SQL Developer, Application DBA, or Database Administrator.  
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL development.  
  • Proven experience supporting application deployments and database release management.  
  • Experience planning and executing database migrations and upgrades.  
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.  
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.  
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps methodologies.  
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and maintenance strategies.  
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with database deployment tools such as Redgate, Flyway, Liquibase, or SSDT.  
  • PowerShell, Python, or scripting experience for automation.  
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.  
  • Experience supporting containerized applications and Kubernetes environments.  
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools.
