Safety-Sensitive Designation: Yes This position is subject to applicable drug and alcohol testing and related compliance obligations. Summary/Objective The System Safety & Security Intern (SSSI) reports directly to the System Safety & Security Manager (SSSM). The SSSI is responsible for supporting projects within the System Safety & Security (3S) Practice in strict compliance with client contract requirements.

Core responsibilities will include database maintenance, entering, revising, validating, retrieving, preparing reports, and, conducting project-specific safety and security activities. Essential Functions Participates in and assists with the System Safety & Security Certification process to ensure compliance with the System Safety Program Plan Prepares safety and security progress reports for monthly submission Monitors and reviews notices distributed via the project's electronic document system Conducts data analysis of accident statistics Work closely with the System Safety & Security Team in promoting system safety throughout the project Tracks and monitors identified hazards Serves as an active participant on various internal and external committees and groups while also recording minutes of said meeting Prepares necessary CDRLs and coordinates with Project Management Plan (PMP) and other affected documents Records and assigns hazard analysis findings to individual design disciplines and verifies findings are defined in detail and understood Evaluates and makes sure approaches to technical issues for each hazard addresses the finding and are thorough and complete Prepares monthly status reports for System Safety, identifying all outstanding action items and the planned approach to accomplishment
