Job Description
Location: Onsite (5 days a week)
Duration: 6 months contract

Provide Primary DBA (Database Administration) responsibilities including support of the various application development teams through advising on design, implementing solutions and optimizing databases for the applications.
  • Working as a MS SQL Server (Microsoft's Database offering) expert for the firm
  • Evaluating and Adopting features in new releases of the MS SQL Server product
  • Work closely with Engineers across all Business Units to design, develop and optimize databases for diverse application workloads
  • Provide support for Database (RDBMS's) standardization programs from design, development and implementation
  • Installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of DBMS environment
  • Design and implement database security controls in order to safeguard firms data
  • Provide production support, capacity planning and work on building the database infrastructure globally
  • Manage various OS and database specific upgrades on Windows/Linux environment
  • Build self-service and automation tools using scripts/programs (ex. Powershell) in order to reduce manual processing in providing low-touch offerings
  • Working closely with Microsoft Engineering and Product support teams to provide feedback as well as new feature requirements as per the firm's development needs
Basic Qualifications
  • Required Technical Qualifications -Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another Engineering field and 5 years of experience in a related role
  • Database design, Replication, Stored procedures, SQL performance and tuning and all aspects of high-value add applications database support.
  • Relational Database development, troubleshooting, design for highly concurrent applications
  • Ability to partner with application developers to negotiate and confidence to influence and promote database standardized solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills in understanding complex issues and devising specific database solutions for global applications
