Job Title: Java Azure Architect with WebLogic Experience
Location: Chicago, IL โ€“ Onsite
Job Type: 12+ Months Contract (Possible Extension) (W2/C2C)

Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned Java Azure Architect with deep experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade applications on Microsoft Azure, alongside strong expertise in Oracle WebLogic Server. This role will be onsite in Chicago, IL, working closely with cross-functional teams, DevOps engineers, and cloud security teams to design scalable and secure applications and migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the target technical architecture for migrating PCF, WebLogic, and Tomcat-based applications to Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS).
  • Review system configurations, including hardware, software, messaging, and deployment topologies.
  • Lead disaster recovery planning and ensure high availability architecture is in place.
  • Provide deep technical expertise on Oracle WebLogic, including installation, configuration, and performance optimization.
  • Define and implement cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable microservices solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into Azure-based application design.
  • Ensure infrastructure and applications follow security and compliance guidelines within Azure.

Must Have Technical Skills:

  • Microservices Architecture
  • Java Spring Boot
  • API Gateway
  • RDBMS / NoSQL Databases
  • DevOps Methodologies and Tools

Required Skills:

  • 13-15+ years of overall IT experience with at least 3-5 years as a Java Architect.
  • Strong experience in Azure Cloud Architecture, including services such as:
    • Azure App Services
    • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
    • Azure Functions
    • Azure API Management
    • Azure DevOps
  • Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot, RESTful APIs).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic Server:
    • Installation
    • Configuration
    • Performance optimization
  • Deep understanding of Java (Spring Boot), RESTful API development, and cloud-native design.
  • Proficiency with Oracle WebLogic Server.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and modern CI/CD automation.
  • Familiarity with both RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB, MongoDB).
  • Exposure to DevOps tools and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Certification (AZ-305 or equivalent).
  • Experience in migrating on-premise Java/WebLogic apps to Azure.
  • Strong background in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.
  • Prior experience in Financial or Healthcare domains is a plus.
