Work you'll do

As a Software Engineer III; Database Team Lead in the GPS HST Technology group you will:

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of large SQL Server database systems, ensuring high availability, integrity, and security
  • Lead database design, development, tuning, and automation initiatives to improve performance and meet business requirements
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of database administrators and developers, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on database-related matters-managing expectations, translating business needs into technical requirements, and providing regular updates
  • Oversee troubleshooting, problem resolution, and root cause analysis for database outages or performance issues
  • Establish and enforce database administration and development best practices, including security, backup and recovery, and documentation
  • Plan and oversee database-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and integrations, ensuring alignment with client and organizational goals

  • Skilled at translating business needs into technical solutions and managing client relationships
  • Track record of resolving outages or performance issues, including root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of database security, compliance, documentation, and process standardization
  • Ability to lead upgrades, migrations, and related database initiatives from planning to execution
  • Local to Salem, OR - ability to be onsite 10+ days per month
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
