Job Title: Guest Services Assistant (CSJ: Reception Clerk)

Hourly Rate: $16.50

Contract Term: 8-week term, starting June, 2026

Hours of Work:35 hours per week

    Eligibility Criteria:

    The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify for roles funded by Canada Summer Jobs.

    1. The candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the beginning of the employment period.

    Who We Are:
    Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past. 

    Job Overview:

    Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Guest Services Assistant will handle all public inquiries made to the Guest Services department, both telephone and walk-up. This position is also responsible for the database management and assistance with online sales of annual passes, bulk tickets and event tickets.

    Responsibilities:

    • Warmly greet and assist all guests visiting the Administration Office, effectively managing customer inquiries and comments
    • Manage the annual pass program, overseeing sales and ensuring accurate database management
    • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Park operations, offering guidance to guests and making informed recommendations
    • Operate the Park's main telephone line, efficiently directing calls and inquiries
    • Handle incoming and outgoing courier items and mail, maintaining organization and timely distribution
    • Process sales for the Bulk Ticket program, as well as assist guests with annual pass and ticketed event sales and payments
    • Conduct payment reconciliation and ensure the security of the Guest Services area by controlling door access
    • Provides additional support to Gasoline Alley and Front Gate admissions as needed
    • Complete various administrative tasks, including mail-outs, statistics compilation, and filing, as assigned
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:

    • Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibilitycriteria
    • Completion of secondary school education isrequired; post-secondary is an asset
    • Prior experience in a call centre or customerservice role with job duties that include data base entry and cash handlingexperience is an asset
    • Strong customer service orientation andcommunication skills with a polite and professional telephone manner isrequired
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products isrequired with strong data entry skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent customer service focus, including theability to handle and manage competing priorities
    • High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling confidentialorganizational information
    • Commitment to continuous learning and development
    • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in aclient-faced setting
    • All successful candidates who are over the age of 18are required to complete a background check. Employment at Heritage Park iscontingent upon receipt of a satisfactory report prior to their contract startdate.
