Job description

Build what matters as a Solutions Architect at RevStar.

RevStar is a dynamic team of engineers, architects, and product managers committed to putting your business first in the pursuit of excellence. As an AI-first, full-service innovation shop and AWS Advanced Tier Partner, we deliver end-to-end cloud-native, data, and AI solutions that create real business impact.

We are passionate about what we build and how we build it. From architecture and design to coding and delivery, we approach each project with an agile mindset, continuously analyzing goals and business needs to ensure optimal outcomes.

At RevStar, we foster a collaborative, remote-first culture where teams freely share ideas, innovate together, and grow both individually and collectively. By joining us, you’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies across diverse industries, delivering value-driven products for clients who prioritize quality and performance. We believe in the pursuit of better, not just in cloud-native app development, but in creating meaningful experiences and outcomes that matter.

RevStar is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Solutions Architect to provide technical leadership throughout the pre-sales lifecycle. This role specializes in AWS AI/ML, data platforms, and cloud migrations, working closely with Account Executives, AWS field teams, and internal delivery teams to scope, architect, and validate customer solutions.

The Solutions Architect is responsible for technical discovery, solution design, migration strategy, architecture validation, and estimation, ensuring proposed solutions are secure, scalable, cost-aware, and aligned with AWS best practices. This role does not own sales relationships or deal closure, but plays a critical role in accelerating deal velocity and ensuring technical accuracy across AWS co-sell motions.

Above all, the ideal candidate embodies RevStar’s core values:

  • Self-Mastery: We hold a high bar for how we think, communicate, and improve.
  • Ownership: We own outcomes, not just effort.
  • Shared Destiny: We rise or fall together.
Role and Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer requirements, existing environments, constraints, and success criteria
  • Act as the technical authority during customer meetings, addressing questions related to AWS AI, ML, GenAI, data platforms, and migrations
  • Translate business and modernization objectives into technical requirements and high-level solution designs
  • Partner with Account Executives during AWS co-sell motions to validate use cases, migration paths, and technical fit
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout the pre-sales process

AWS Architecture, Modernization & Migration Design

  • Design reference architectures aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
  • Define cloud migration and modernization strategies, including:
    • Rehost, replatform, refactor, and hybrid approaches
    • Database migrations (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, etc.)
    • Application and data migration sequencing
  • Create clear, reusable architecture diagrams covering:
    • AI/ML and GenAI pipelines
    • Agent-based systems
    • Data lakes and analytics platforms
    • Application, database, and infrastructure migrations
  • Select and justify appropriate AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, ECS/EKS, DMS)
  • Clearly explain architectural tradeoffs, migration risks, and implementation options to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

AI, ML & Data Expertise

  • Scope AI and ML solutions including data ingestion, feature engineering, training, inference, and MLOps workflows
  • Design Generative AI architectures using AWS services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, vector databases, and RAG patterns
  • Architect modern data platforms including batch and streaming pipelines, analytics layers, and visualization tooling
  • Ensure solution designs align with governance, security, compliance, and data residency requirements

Costing, Estimation & Planning

  • Build AWS cost estimates using the AWS Pricing Calculator
  • Provide high-level implementation timelines and phased delivery plans, including migration sequencing
  • Identify cost drivers, scaling considerations, and optimization opportunities early in the sales cycle
  • Support proposal and SOW development by supplying:
    • Technical scope and migration assumptions
    • Dependencies, risks, and constraints
  • Provide technical inputs required for AWS funding requests (e.g., PoCs, migrations, credits) in coordination with Account Executive

Internal Collaboration & Enablement

  • Collaborate with delivery and engineering teams to validate feasibility, migration approach, and scope before deal close
  • Ensure clean handoff from pre-sales to delivery with documented architectures, migration plans, and assumptions
  • Share feedback on customer needs, technical trends, and emerging AWS services

Requirements

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven experience in a Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, Pre-Sales Consultant, or consulting role
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud services, including AI/ML, data platforms, and migration services
  • Experience designing or discussing:
    • Cloud and application migrations
    • Data and database modernization
    • Analytics and AI/ML workloads
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset
Preferred
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, GenAI, ML Specialty)
  • Experience supporting AWS migration programs or co-sell motions
  • Familiarity with CRM and opportunity tracking systems
  • Prior experience contributing to proposals, SOWs, or AWS funding submissions

Benefits

Benefits for Full-Time W2 Positions:
