Job description

Quattro Consulting, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) - Mid in support of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). The Database Administrator (DBA) - Mid will provide technical expertise to support the administration, maintenance, optimization, and security of databases and data environments supporting Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) mission requirements. The DBA will ensure the reliability, integrity, availability, and performance of databases used to support OSINT training, tradecraft, policy, and operational initiatives across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE).
The Database Administrator - Mid will work closely with Government personnel, system administrators, developers, cybersecurity personnel, analysts, and other stakeholders to support database operations, troubleshoot technical issues, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with DIA, Department of Defense (DoD), and Intelligence Community (IC) standards. The ideal candidate will possess experience supporting secure enterprise IT environments and be capable of adapting to dynamic mission priorities in a fast-paced operational setting.
Responsibilities for this position may include (but are not limited to):
  • Administering, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting enterprise database systems in support of DIA OSINT mission requirements and related technical environments.
  • Installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining database management systems (DBMS) to ensure system stability, security, and operational availability.
  • Monitoring database performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning strategies to maximize system efficiency.
  • Managing database backups, restoration activities, disaster recovery procedures, and continuity of operations to ensure data availability and integrity.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining database security controls, access permissions, and auditing mechanisms in accordance with DIA, DoD, and IC cybersecurity and information assurance requirements.
  • Collaborating with system administrators, developers, engineers, and Government stakeholders to support integration efforts, system enhancements, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Supporting database design, schema development, data migration, and data management activities to meet evolving mission and operational requirements.
  • Performing routine database maintenance, health checks, and vulnerability remediation activities to sustain secure and reliable system operations.
  • Developing and maintain technical documentation, including database architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration baselines, and maintenance records.
  • Assisting in the implementation and enforcement of data governance, data quality, and configuration management standards.
  • Analyzing system logs, database metrics, and operational trends to proactively identify and resolve issues impacting performance or availability.
  • Supporting system testing, validation, accreditation, and change management processes associated with database systems and infrastructure updates.
  • Participating in technical meetings, planning sessions, and working groups to support system modernization, operational improvements, and mission priorities.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable security requirements, policies, and procedures governing classified and sensitive data environments.
  • Providing responsive technical support in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment while adapting to evolving Government priorities and operational need.

Expected salary range: $100,000 - $114,000
This position is contingent on contract award.
Multiple positions may be hired from this announcement.
Work Environment:
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field + 3 years of experience //OR// 7 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass and obtain DIA CI Poly.
  • Experience administering enterprise database platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable technologies) in secure Federal, DoD, or Intelligence Community environments.
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning, backup and recovery, access control, data integrity, and database lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, RMF, STIG compliance, and secure system administration practices.
  • Experience supporting system integration, data migration, and troubleshooting within enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with OSINT tools, data exploitation techniques, and social media analysis platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team supporting mission-critical operations.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills, with experience producing intelligence products for senior stakeholders.
  • Must have experience with procedural languages such as PL/SQL.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading RDBMS software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
