Job description

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior DB2 Database Administrator – OpenShift position for our client.

Location: Atlanta, GA / Charlotte, NC / Raleigh, NC — No Remote
Duration: Ongoing Contract

Duties:

  • Administer and support DB2 databases across z/OS and/or LUW environments.
  • Design, build, migrate, configure, tune, and maintain DB2 databases.
  • Support DB2/Db2U on Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes, including storage, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead or support on-premises DB2 to OpenShift migrations as part of database modernization initiatives.
  • Perform SQL development, database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and problem resolution.
  • Manage database jobs and maintenance using CRON, ESP, or similar scheduling tools.
  • Troubleshoot DB2 and OpenShift performance, availability, and stability issues.
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, and platform teams throughout migration and production support.
  • Support IBM Q Replication (QREP), preferred.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of DB2 Database Administration experience.

  • Proven experience migrating on-premises DB2 databases to Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Strong SQL and DB2 performance tuning experience.
  • Experience with CRON, ESP, or enterprise scheduling tools.
  • Large-scale database migration/modernization experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
