OVERVIEW:

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, availability, and performance of multiple enterprise databases in a mission-critical environment. The selected individual will support full database lifecycle activities, including administration, monitoring, performance tuning, security implementation, disaster recovery, and legacy data ingestion. This role requires deep expertise with Oracle database technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, and hands-on experience supporting highly available and secure systems in classified environments.


GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Perform daily database administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, including system database and replication issues.
  • Monitor database performance, memory utilization, and capacity using standard database administration tools.
  • Conduct system updates and perform Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patching.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems and performance issues.
  • Perform database backup and recovery actions, including disaster recovery support.
  • Modify existing database scripts and develop new scripts to address recurring database issues and enhance system support.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc data requests.
  • Transition and ingest legacy data into new or existing database environments.
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into usable database schemas by creating, recreating, or updating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros.
  • Manipulate data into master files to support reporting, analytics, and operational requirements.
  • Recommend database design and implementation practices that optimize the performance of GOTS and COTS databases and applications.
  • Assist in the development of database structures that integrate with the overall system architecture.
  • Support the development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and Eight (8) years of relevant experience (Additional relevant experience may be substituted for a degree).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Oracle Database Administration experience
  • In-depth experience implementing and maintaining database security controls.
  • In-depth experience conducting database performance tuning and monitoring.
  • In-depth experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading RDBMS software.
  • Experience with procedural languages, including PL/SQL.
  • DoD 8570 / DoD 8140 compliant Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with real-time, highly available data replication technologies, including Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Streams, Oracle GoldenGate, and/or Sybase Replication Server.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments.
  • Extensive experience with database design and development.
  • In-depth understanding of relational and non-relational databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other NoSQL technologies.
  • Strong experience with Oracle SQL/PLSQL and SQL development.
  • Experience with MongoDB and/or Cassandra.

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph required
