Job description

PARR is the total source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. Pay: $95,204-$117,604 annually
The Database Administrator II (DBA II) position is responsible for the administration, performance, security, availability, integrity, backup, recovery, and maintenance of enterprise database environments. The DBA partners with applications, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure reliable and secure database operations.
The DBA may be responsible for other activities including research, reporting, participating in design and testing of data deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Extract, Transformation and Loading (ETL) procedures for implementing data integration and data migration tasks in support of data integration projects
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database management systems
  • Design and maintain schemas, tables, indexes, stored procedures, and security models
  • Provides analytical support to any or all divisions of the organization by mining data, conducting analysis, and interpreting results related to business needs
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Monitor and tune database performance
  • Support application development teams with database design and query optimization
  • Assist with the development of functional and technical requirements documents for diverse audience (technical and non-technical), including migration, implementation, and test plans
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripting and management tools
  • Draft documents for interfaces and other data systems
  • Establishes and maintains productive business partnerships across the organization
  • Manages expectations through direct and routine interaction with business partners
  • Share knowledge and help mentor fellow team members
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective system operations
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of related administrative experience with databases, structures, and architecture
  • 2+ year's experience with data mapping, integrations, and conversions
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or related platforms
  • Knowledge of database security, auditing, and encryption
  • Experience with analytical/reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required
  • Class C driver's license or reliable alternative transportation required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and to lead others in a directed effort to complete projects
  • Skill in assessing stakeholder needs and asking probing questions to understand underlying needs and surface essential requirements information
  • Demonstrated ability to work with employees and management at all levels of the organization including skill in working across organizational and geographical boundaries
  • Strong analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into details, abstract up from detailed information to a more general understanding, discern underlying true needs from presented user requests, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
  • Ability to work with changing requirements/priorities using internal and external resources
  • Ability to learn new systems and applications
  • Ability to be self-managed and apply skills in problem solving and decision-making
