Job Description

As a SQL Database Administrator, you will be part of a team of Database Administrators remotely supporting multiple SQL Server installations on our client's systems all over the world. You will be working with our clients on database projects and proactively ensuring optimal availability and performance of the database systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL issues that arise while working concurrently with multiple priorities.

The MSSQL Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for providing database technical support for ALL client databases in multi-environment (production to non-production).

As part of operations support, DBA is expected to work in 24x7 support model.

It is extremely important to understand and be aligned to the ITIL process while delivering the Operational support service to our client.

Some of the primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests,

fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance,

monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database

related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.

This MS SQL Server DBA role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, related field or demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • +5 years' experience SQL Server Backup strategy, review and maintenance, SQL Server product installation, Database installation and deployment, security administration, review and audit, performance tuning, server sizing and configuration, recovery, cleanup and refresh
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Excellent interdepartmental collaboration and teaming abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking ability
  • Excellent trouble shooting skill using logic and reason
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal direction and guidance
  • Strong experience in Database Administration in SQL Server ( 2005 -2014 )
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server.
