Title: Database Administration

Location: 2 Broadway, NYC, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite or as needed

Role Summary

Seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to design, implement, maintain, tune, and optimize MTA databases, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, migrate, and maintain SQL Server/Azure Managed Instance databases.
  • Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
  • Implement High Availability/Always On, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Manage database security, patching, and compliance.
  • Support database requirements for application development teams.
  • Develop automation, scripting, procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams.
  • Mentor junior database staff and provide technical direction.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years hands-on SQL Server DBA experience.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server, Windows Server, Azure, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage, and Azure security.
  • Experience with Always On/High Availability.
  • Strong SQL skills; Python/scripting knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle and MS-SQL and UNIX/Linux/Windows environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • 8+ years supporting databases, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Bachelor''s degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience; Microsoft certifications preferred.
