We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role is part of the Focused Operational Readiness, Guidance and Engagement (FORGE) team within Disney eXperiences Technologies (DXT), partnering closely with teams across multiple lines of business - including Parks and Resorts, Disney Signature Experiences, Disney Vacation Club, and Disney Cruise Line - to support enterprise-wide initiatives.

The Manager, Database Administration will report to the Sr Manager, Database Operations.

About The Role & Team:

The Manager of Database Administration is responsible for leading the strategic direction, performance, and security of enterprise database environments across multiple lines of business. This role ensures that existing business issues are addressed through thoughtful planning, execution, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the planning, design, and development of database architecture-including structure, documentation, requirements, and protection standards. Translate business strategy into actionable objectives and ensure thoughtful resolution of existing issues through well-laid plans.

  • Ensure the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. Oversee database access, physical storage, and resource allocation to maximize performance and cost efficiency.

  • Oversee, design, installation, configuration, and support of all aspects of the database environment. Provide technical leadership and stay current with emerging technologies, including RDBMS and NoSQL platforms. Advocate for standards while driving smarter, more effective ways of working.

  • Coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering ownership, follow-through, and a culture of accountability. Guide the team in implementing plans, meeting goals, and adapting to evolving priorities.

  • Define and track key performance indicators for database operations, team effectiveness, and project delivery. Provide clear reporting and insights to stakeholders to support data-driven decisions.

  • Partner across business units-including Disney Signature Experiences and Disney Vacation Club-to align database strategies and ensure visibility into priorities and progress.

  • Develop and implement procedures that promote effective database access and utilization. Ensure key decisions drive the right behaviors and outcomes across the organization.

  • Identify risks and lead the development of proactive mitigation strategies. Ensure plans are iterative and flexible to accommodate change.

  • Oversee finances and budgets in MyPPM, ensure accurate billing processes, and contribute to forecasting and accrual processes to maintain financial integrity and support organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 8+ years of progressive experiencein database administration, infrastructure, or related technical leadership roles.

  • Proven track record ofleading database teamsand managing complex, enterprise-scale environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise in bothRDBMS and NoSQLtechnologies, with a strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and scalability.

  • Advanced knowledge ofdatabase management systems, including configuration, implementation, and support.

  • Deep understanding ofdisaster recovery planning, high availability, and business continuity strategies.

  • Skilled inprioritization and resource management, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals.

  • Familiarity with leveragingAI and automationto enhance system performance and predictive insights.

  • Comfortable working inagile environments, with a mindset of iteration, adaptability, and continuous learning.

Required Education:

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $135,200.00-$181,200.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
