Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Architect - Data Science & Integration Support to support one of our federal law enforcement clients. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise database solutions, data processing systems, and data architecture that support the National Data Exchange (N-DEx) Data Science Environment and advanced analytics capabilities.

The Senior Data Architect will provide technical leadership in database architecture, data processing, automation, and analytics while supporting enterprise data quality initiatives, modernizing data management processes, and enabling secure information sharing across criminal justice systems. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in relational databases, data integration, scripting, cloud technologies, and enterprise data architecture within a highly secure federal environment. This position may be performed remotely or onsite in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise database solutions supporting the N-DEx Data Science Environment and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Develop, build, and maintain database utilities, scripts, and automation processes that improve system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise databases by resolving synchronization issues, failures, access problems, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Automate routine and ad hoc reporting processes to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Design, implement, and maintain tracking tools supporting enterprise projects, data integration initiatives, and data quality management.
  • Develop analytical tools and reporting solutions that support data ingest analysis, data management, and enterprise analytics.
  • Design and maintain data processing pipelines and automation projects supporting enterprise information sharing.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in enterprise data architecture, database design, and available data assets.
  • Monitor and maintain database health through optimization, storage management, data purging, and performance tuning.
  • Support and maintain the N-DEx Data Science Environment while enabling advanced analytics that identify systemic data quality issues resulting from policy, process, or technical changes.
  • Develop and maintain tools, models, and automation solutions that leverage modern data technologies and data science methodologies to generate actionable technical and business insights.
  • Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, including:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Technical documentation
    • Process workflows
    • White papers
    • Status reports
    • Dashboards
    • Program reports
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and operational metrics while providing recurring reporting and updates to leadership.
  • Operate within the FBI CJIS Division's Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment and actively participate in Agile Release Train (ART) activities.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Database Administration, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

Required Experience

Candidates must demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Enterprise database architecture, administration, and optimization.
  • Designing and maintaining database utilities, automation scripts, and performance enhancement solutions.
  • Database troubleshooting, synchronization, performance tuning, storage optimization, and data lifecycle management.
  • Data ingest, processing, transformation, and enterprise data integration.
  • Developing automated reporting solutions and enterprise data quality tracking tools.
  • Managing Virtual Machines (VMs) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) within cloud environments, including:
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Law enforcement data standards and Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal law enforcement or criminal justice information systems.
  • Familiarity with FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data science, analytics, and large-scale data modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance, data quality management, and information sharing programs.
  • Experience working within a SAFe Agile environment.

Security Clearance

  • Active Top Secret Clearance is required.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain the required security clearance throughout employment.
