Job description

Mid Data Visualization Developer
Clearance: Public Trust
Location: Washington, DC – potentially 5 days onsite
Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain data visualizations, interactive dashboards, self service reporting environments, and user friendly interfaces.
  • Create intuitive visual representations of complex datasets to support decision making and analytical use cases.
  • Develop new programs and components based on specifications from engineers, architects, or senior developers.
  • Update, repair, enhance, and optimize existing applications and visualization elements.
  • Perform routine and intermediate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation work in alignment with established development standards.
  • Ensure data accuracy, security, and reliability across all visualization workflows.
  • Partner with data analysts, business stakeholders, and developers to understand data context, requirements, and desired outcomes.
  • Recommend effective visualization methods and best practices for presenting information to end users.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, user focused communications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in programming, data visualization, or related technical roles.
  • Ability to independently deliver routine to moderately complex development tasks
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards and reports in Tableau or Power BI.
  • Intermediate SQL for querying, validating, and transforming data.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; exposure to frameworks or libraries such as AngularJS, D3.js, Chart.js, or jQuery.
  • Ability to convert raw or semi structured data into clear, effective visual products.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles, including layout, accessibility, and user focused design.
  • Familiarity with structured and unstructured data formats (e.g., relational tables, JSON, Parquet).
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating in cross functional environments.
  • Awareness of best practices for data accuracy, integrity, and security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with SAP BusinessObjects for reporting.
  • Proficiency with additional programming or data languages such as SQL and Python.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Public Trust clearance is required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
