DESCRIPTION:
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Project Manager II, where you'll lead initiatives that help make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. In this role, you'll oversee projects from initiation through successful delivery, ensuring effective execution and stakeholder satisfaction. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams, manage tasks and timelines, and implement process improvements while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position offers an opportunity to make meaningful contributions at a leading company serving science.
  • Leads Product Data Management workstream execution for projects with manager/senior PM guidance.
  • Partners with manager/senior project manager (PM) to define PDM scope, milestones, and timeline; escalates tradeoffs and risks early.
  • Performs data discovery, data analysis/transformation, and executes data loads and verification activities.
  • Updates project documentation and training materials to support deliverables and handoff to steady-state teams.
  • Follows standard processes to set up products with no/minimal system or process changes; projects typically <6 months.
  • Applies and supports governance to established data standards; flags non-compliance for resolution.
  • Supports process improvement opportunities by documenting gaps and proposing enhancements.
  • Maintains stakeholder updates; coordinates scope changes and escalations through manager/senior PM as needed.
  • Supports transition of project outcomes into standard business processes.
  • Identifies ambiguous procedure gaps and collaborates with manager/senior PM to recommend clarifications.
  • Validates that items meet Oracle Cloud Product Lifecycle Management (OCPLM) transactable readiness requirements (per checklist/standards) and coordinates corrections with appropriate subject-matter expert; escalates gaps/risks through manager/senior PM.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess understanding of Oracle Cloud Product Lifecycle Management, E1 and SAP and how each system supports existing processes.
  • Has working knowledge of key Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes including New Product Introduction, Site Extensions, Discontinuation and Changes to existing products.
  • Understands downstream systems (e.g. E1, SAP, Siebel, Web, Trax, Hybris, etc.) that may affect internal and external customers.
  • Possess the ability (verbal, written, and email) to communicate effectively and influence internal leadership.
  • Ability to multitask and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of the required OCPLM item data, lifecycle status/approvals, and assignments needed to make items transactive (per established business rules and readiness checklist).
  • Understands how OCPLM item readiness impacts downstream integrations and transactions (e.g., ERP/MRP and customer-facing systems) and raises risks early.
  • Advanced Degree with no experience required, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in a regulated/technical environment
  • PPI (e. g. Process Improvement, Lean Six Sigma) trained. Project Management certification (PMP) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, project management software and business systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in cross-functional team environments
  • Process improvement and change management experience
  • Strong customer focus and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a results-oriented environment

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $60,000.00-$80,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
