THE ROLE
The Sr. Data Engineer will play a critical role in enhancing and maintaining a data platform for execution and operations research within the trading department. The candidate will be working as a part of a team of Quantitative Trading Strategists to store new data sets, ensure reliability of data pipelines, build out additional capabilities across multiple asset classes. The Sr. Data Engineer will work across vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless, scalable data flows are built in an accessible way throughout the trading ecosystem.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest data from numerous sources.
  • Proactively and independently work to enhance reliability of data capture.
  • Collaborate with team to develop processes to transform raw data into more usable data sets.
  • Find and action opportunities for automation in analytics production.
  • Implement robust data quality checks and enhance monitoring for data pipelines.
  • Partner with Quantitative Trading Strategists to improve current platform capabilities and performance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, with a focus on software engineering. Knowledge of data science or statistics is beneficial.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in a data intensive field.
  • Experience with Python, KDB/Q or other programming languages with a focus on interfacing with high volume data.
  • Experience working with large data sets, structured and unstructured
  • Experience with data visualization and concepts around display of data
  • Equity and fixed income quantitative background, market structure knowledge, plus experience with trading processes and/or transaction cost analysis (TCA).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively generate project ideas.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Some international travel.

Base Salary Range: $95,500 - $137,500
This position is eligible for competitive incentive bonus.

This range reflects our good-faith expectation for what we'll pay depending on the candidate's experience, training and education. In addition to the salary, we also offer significant and competitive incentive compensation based on both individual and company performance. Other components of our Total Rewards Package include:
