About the role:
As a Data Engineer, you will have responsibility for the maintenance, improvement, cleaning, transforming, and movement of data related to Westinghouse's digital solutions. Daily interactions with data scientists and partners expect you to understand and aid in the implementation of database requirements and ensure database and data pipeline health. The Senior Data Engineer will also support Data Engineer leaders to maintain standards and collaborate with IT for database administration.
You will report to the Director of Digital Technology and Capabilities and be located in Cranberry, PA. This is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement data schemas, stored procedures, data pipelines, and data visualization artifacts
Maintain services for ingestion, transformation, and loading of data from several data sources and small to large datasets
Develop scalable data pipelines and API integrations to support increases in data volume and complexity
Implement processes to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for partners and business processes that depend on it
Prepare and deliver reports to leadership on data quality and recommendations for continuous improvement
Implement changes to data architecture and transform data to prepare for use by the data scientists and development teams
Support Data Engineer leadership to create standards based on industry best practices for ETL solutions, data storage, data ingestion, and data pipelines
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience developing data schemas, stored procedures, data pipelines, and data visualization
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Familiarity with several data storage and management services such as relational databases, non-relational database, Data Lake 2.0
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and big data technologies like Hadoop
Understanding of software development lifecycles
Familiar with best practices and IT operations for database administration
Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
