Chronos Operations (CO) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation based in Anchorage, AK. Belonging to the Military, Intelligence, and Operations Support (MIOS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Chronos has a culture rooted in integrity, respect, and exceptional performance. Chronos is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, and provides mission-critical services in Advanced Analytics & AI, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Intelligence.
The Data Visualization Engineer will play a key role in transforming complex datasets into clear, compelling, and actionable visual narratives. The Data Visualization Engineer will develop interactive dashboards and visual tools primarily using Foundry, Power BI, or Gaberiel Nimbus dashboards to help stakeholders uncover insights, drive decisions, and communicate the value of data.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in support of cybersecurity, risk management, and mission performance tracking.
  • Create, maintain, and revise existing data visualizations, including interactive dashboards, reports, graphs, and graphics.
  • Troubleshoot and debug the front- and back-end data ingestion process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to define, design and deploy solutions and enhancements that meet the needs of the company, its clients, and end users.
  • Design data visualizations that analyze data from various internal and external sources.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new tools, models, and processes to optimize efficiency, reliability, and usability of data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and cybersecurity analysts to extract and normalize data from multiple sources, including eMASS, VRO, and network sensors.
  • Enable real-time situational awareness through role-based visualizations that support leadership decision-making and operational readiness.
  • Optimize dashboard performance and usability across various platforms and security domains.
  • Maintain familiarity with other visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI) as required for integration or cross-functional needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, IT, or business-related programs required.
  • 5+ years of Power BI development experience in dashboard creation, data visualization, and reporting development
  • Must have experience in designing, developing, and configuring data visualizations for different types of users.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cybersecurity certifications like CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) are desired.
  • 3+ years experience supporting DoD or federal programs is highly desirable.
  • MS Power BI Certification is desired.
  • Data Analytics Certifications are desired.
  • 3+ years experience with Vantage or Gaberiel Nimbus is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven expertise in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools; Foundry Contour or Quiver experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of DAX, SQL, or equivalent query languages
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, XML)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and risk management metrics preferred
  • Experience working in cloud infrastructures
  • Must have high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and possess advanced skills and knowledge in programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must have an understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle) and hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience extracting, transforming, and structuring data to support both exploratory analytics and operational reporting.
  • Strong creative and visual storytelling skills with an eye for design, usability, and user experience.
  • Use expert knowledge of data visualization tools to deliver information that allows client users to quickly understand data, ask better questions, and take action.
  • Possess knowledge and experience with data analysis and data technical expertise in data management, engineering, and science.
  • Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
