Advanced Cloud DevOps and Platform Engineer

Location: Scottsdale, AZ. Contract Position $60.74-$65.74/Hour. This role involves developing CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure, integrating security, scripting, and driving cloud solutions for a space and defense company.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain automated integration and deployment CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and frequent releases by project teams
  • Automate and manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration to support scalability and reliability
  • Implement security automated measures throughout the software development lifecycle to prevent vulnerabilities
  • Write scripts and code to automate processes and integrate various systems and tools
  • Leverage cloud (AWS/Azure GovCloud) for increased workflow efficiencies and realized scalable virtualized test environments
  • Support successful implementation of a PaaS in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain U.S. Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or STEM and 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience
  • Experience working with public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments
  • Container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Deployment of CI/CD technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef
  • Experience maintaining production‑grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automation
  • Creation of pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions from resource creation to service configuration
Preferred Qualifications
  • IT security practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, security hardening, and auditing
  • Installation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies such as Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, RHOSP, or VIO
  • Management of Cloud Resources in Amazon Web Services and/or Azure
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShift
  • Cloud automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or Packer
  • Open source server, messaging, load balancing, and database software (RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch)
  • Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX)/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)
