Job description


We are building a ready roster of bilingual Document Translators/Processors to support disaster response operations. All languages are welcome to apply - Spanish fluency is highly preferred given the population served. This is an activation-based position - once activated, you'll play a critical role helping residents navigate the disaster assistance process by translating and processing essential documents during a time of urgent need.

What You'll Do
  • Translate documents between English and other languages, including applications, official correspondence, and disaster assistance paperwork
  • Review submitted documents for completeness and accuracy prior to processing
  • Assist disaster survivors with understanding forms, instructions, and next steps in their preferred language
  • Accurately enter and process document data into case management systems
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data accuracy standards when handling sensitive personal information
  • Collaborate with case workers, translators, and site coordinators to ensure timely document turnaround
  • Provide culturally sensitive, clear communication to individuals affected by disaster

Schedule

  • Minimum of 16 hours/week required once activated; up to 40 hours/week available
  • Fully flexible scheduling - shifts available across days, evenings, and weekends
  • Deployment length will vary based on the scope and duration of the response effort
