Summary
This position serves as the Training Coordinator for the Denver OSS in Longmont, CO. The training coordinator provides support in the safe and efficient operation of the vast and complex network of systems required for the world's largest air traffic control and navigation system.

Help
H-Band: Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities.
Applies experience and knowledge to plan and accomplish assignments. Assignments may require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines. Typical assignments may include: compiling, tracking and analyzing data to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; providing guidance to less-experienced professionals in day-to-day operations; identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions for complex/difficult problems; and recommending improvements to systems and processes.
Independently plans time and uses assigned resources to accomplish work tasks and projects. Conducts and coordinates aeronautical studies for proposed construction projects, including activation/deactivation and alteration of landing areas to determine potential effects on air navigation. Provides guidance to less-experienced professionals in day-to-day operations; Interacts with, provides technical guidance and assistance to, and coordinates with Regional and Airport District Office (ADO) staff, including engineers, planners; other internal FAA Lines of Business and the public to accomplish tasks or small projects. Researches, extracts, analyzes and inputs data within an automated system and/or manual data files; compose correspondence, prepare reports and presentations to communicate programmatic and technical information.
Collaborates with the coordinator and management to develop comprehensive training material for non-technical training required to meet current needs which cannot be satisfied by training available within the FAA, computer-based instruction mode, or out-of-agency. Reviews, evaluates, advises, tracks and reports employees' training and certification status on systems and services that support the National Airspace System (NAS). Ensures the coordinator and management are kept apprised of the organization's non-technical and technical training needs and trends.
Contacts typically are internal and external, with regular contacts among major subdivisions and LOB's/SO's, customers, and other external parties to share information about the FAA and explain the applications of policies and procedures. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or recommend new approaches.
Performs other duties as assigned.
I-Band: Incumbent performs similar duties, but with less frequent supervision.
The Senior Training Coordinator provides support in the safe and efficient operation of the vast and complex network of systems required for the world's largest air traffic control and navigation system. Manages the non-technical training program, which includes administrative, hazardous material, logistics, managerial, office automation, safety, and human relations courses.
Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader or more experienced professional. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader for large projects/programs/activities. Maintains advanced knowledge of FAA training requirements, policies and processes. Identifies, plans and organizes available resources to accomplish projects/programs and activities. Ensures all prerequisite training, enrollment and pre-course counseling forms are completed in a timely manner.
Provides guidance, support, and training on Airspace processing and review to less experienced professionals.
Performs other duties as assigned.

To qualify at the FV-I level, you must demonstrate in your resume specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12. Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Experience leading project/programs; AND Experience developing and recommending improvements to systems and/or processes to improve operational efficiency.
