Plant Operator or Trainee - Groundwater Operations
The
City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is looking for a dedicated
Plant Operator or Trainee to help us keep our community's water safe and reliable. If you enjoy hands-on work and want to build a career in public service, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
Monitor and adjust pumps, motors and chemical feeds to ensure proper treatment processes.
Collect water samples and perform standard chemical and biological laboratory tests.
Record data from meters and gauges, maintaining accurate logs of plant activities.
Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds and specialized equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A valid Texas Driver license.
- The ability to obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class D Wastewater License within one (1) year of hire date. (Pay is dependent upon possession of Class A, B, C or D Wastewater License. Certificate/license pay up to $200.00 per month, depending on additional license(s) obtained)
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Working knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations, safety procedures and permitting requirements.
- Familiarity with standard laboratory tests and procedures.
