Technical Data Associate – Flow Cytometry Position Overview

We are seeking two detail-oriented Technical Data Associates to support a product data refresh initiative within a Reagent Product Management team.

This role is ideal for a life science professional with hands-on flow cytometry experience who is comfortable independently analyzing flow cytometry data, interpreting plots, identifying data quality issues, and working with technical information.

The Technical Data Associate will review flow cytometry data for a large portfolio of reagents and help ensure customer-facing technical product information is accurate, consistent, and complete.

This is a technical data-focused position rather than a traditional bench research role. Candidates should be comfortable performing detailed, repetitive technical review work while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Technical Data Associate – Flow Cytometry Key Responsibilities

• Review flow cytometry data and prepare accurate product figures for customer-facing technical materials.
• Independently analyze and interpret flow cytometry plots, including dot plots and histograms.
• Evaluate staining patterns and identify potential data quality concerns.
• Identify inconsistencies, missing information, or questionable results and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Draft and update brief figure descriptions that accurately represent the data.
• Apply established naming, formatting, and documentation conventions consistently.
• Enter and maintain technical content in internal product data systems.
• Maintain accurate project trackers, work documentation, record status, and items requiring additional review.
• Follow established procedures and templates across a high volume of product records.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Technical, R&D, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.
• Help identify opportunities to improve data quality, workflow consistency, and process efficiency.

Technical Data Associate – Flow Cytometry Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• At least 2 years of practical laboratory, technical, data analysis, QC, product data, or related life science experience.
• Demonstrated hands-on flow cytometry experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently analyze flow cytometry data.
• Ability to interpret dot plots and histograms and recognize potential data quality issues.
• Experience with flow cytometry analysis software such as FlowJo, BD FACSDiva, FCS Express, or equivalent.
• Understanding of gating and ability to apply gating and plot formatting consistently.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to maintain detailed trackers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately perform repetitive technical work.
• Ability to follow established procedures, templates, naming conventions, and quality standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Data Associate – Flow Cytometry Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience in biotechnology, life sciences, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or a related field.
• Academic laboratory experience involving significant independent flow cytometry analysis will also be considered.
• Familiarity with antibody conjugates, fluorochromes, immunophenotyping markers, and common flow cytometry model systems.
• Experience working with technical product data, quality control, scientific documentation, or product information.

Technical Data Associate – Flow Cytometry Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate combines hands-on laboratory knowledge with strong data and documentation skills.

You should be able to look at a flow cytometry plot and independently determine whether the data appear appropriate, recognize potential issues, and accurately document your findings. The role requires someone who can work through a large volume of records without sacrificing accuracy or consistency.

Candidates coming from flow cytometry research, immunology, cell biology, biotechnology, diagnostics, QC, or academic laboratory environments may be a strong fit.
