Job description

Overview

This role provides critical support to the Head of Department (AVP) by driving analytical insights, monitoring pricing strategies, and managing key initiatives that influence profitability and growth. Acting as an extension of leadership, the position ensures execution of strategic priorities-such as model development, agency expansion, and behavioral analytics-while delivering actionable reporting and industry expertise to enable informed decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Analytical & Reporting:

Monitor and track pricing model initiatives and new business/renewal strategies

Develop and maintain Power BI (PBI) reports for performance monitoring

Provide regular updates on pricing strategies and adherence to budget targets

Manage and support DE rule monitoring and compliance

Analyze submission data to understand drivers of bind likelihood and pricing influence

Industry & Strategic Support:

Support Excess Workers' Compensation (WC) initiatives and related projects

Collaborate on Behavioral Analytics programs

Assist in Agency plant expansion efforts in partnership with distribution teams

Evaluate and understand levers influencing quote to bind, RNS rate, available-to-renew, and retention metrics

Deep understanding of key performance indicators and line of business expertise to positively influence KPIs

Additional Contributions:

Participate in ad hoc projects (e.g., partnerships, software collaborations)

Work closely with APM and Data Science teams on model development (pricing, quote-to-bind, renewal retention)

Provide insights and recommendations to improve underwriting and pricing processes

Qualifications

Required:

3+ years experience in workers compensation related field, with focus on Underwriting/Product Management/Actuarial or Data Science.

Communication skills are paramount, both written, oral and presentations

Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Power BI/SQL and data visualization

Ability to interpret complex data and translate into actionable strategies

Solid understanding of WC insurance products and industry practices

Collaborative mindset for cross-functional projects and agency growth initiatives
