Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000*

SUMMARY

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and ongoing optimization of the firm's business systems and technology solutions. This role serves as a technical and solution design resource, partnering with stakeholders to understand business requirements, architecting scalable and efficient solutions, and executing technical configurations, integrations, automations, and custom development activities.

The Solutions Engineer collaborates across departments to improve business processes; automate processes, data flow and reporting capabilities; support system governance and security standards; and ensure technology solutions align with firm objectives and operational needs. This role requires both strategic problem-solving and hands-on technical expertise across enterprise applications, integrations, databases, and automation platforms.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

SOLUTION DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE

  • Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Design scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions aligned with firm objectives and operational workflows.
  • Develop system architecture diagrams, data flow designs, and integration strategies.
  • Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and modernization.
  • Recommend platforms, tools, and technical approaches based on business needs, feasibility, and long-term sustainability.
  • Ensure solutions align with data governance, security, compliance, and architectural standards.

SYSTEMS CONFIGURATION AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Configure and customize enterprise applications, including Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and other firm systems.
  • Develop custom business applications, workflows, forms, dashboards, and automations.
  • Build and maintain Power Apps, Power Automate flows, APIs, and custom integrations.
  • Modify and maintain database schemas, entities, tables, and application configurations.
  • Write, test, and maintain efficient, scalable, and maintainable code and technical solutions.
  • Support deployment activities and system releases.

SYSTEMS INTEGRATION AND APIs

  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations between internal and external systems.
  • Develop and manage APIs, connectors, ETL processes, and automated data flows.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures, synchronization issues, and data discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on integration architecture and connectivity requirements.

SYSTEMS CONFIGURATION AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Ensure the integrity, security, and availability of applications and databases.
  • Investigate and resolve complex system, application, and integration issues.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize system configurations.
  • Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery procedures.
  • Manage user access and permissions, ensuring appropriate data security.
  • Apply updates, patches, and fixes as needed.

PROJECT COLLABORATION & DELIVERY

  • Participate in technical projects from planning through implementation and rollout.
  • Assist with project scoping, requirements gathering, technical assessments, and solution feasibility analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers, vendors, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Lead and support testing, validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployment activities.
  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities within established timelines.

SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE

  • Support the implementation and enforcement of system security controls and governance policies.
  • Maintain appropriate access controls, permissions, and data protection measures.
  • Ensure solutions comply with firm policies, security requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Participate in system audits, risk assessments, compliance initiatives, and vulnerability testing.
  • Monitor database access logs and perform security audits to detect and mitigate potential risks.

TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Implement testing methodologies to ensure system reliability and quality.
  • Develop test plans and perform unit testing of solutions.
  • Support the deployment and release management processes, including migration across environments.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Stay updated with the latest system features and capabilities.
  • Research emerging technologies, platforms, and industry best practices.
  • Recommend enhancements and innovative solutions to improve firm operations and service delivery.
  • Participate in evaluation, testing, and rollout of new technologies and tools.
  • Contribute to long-term technology strategy, modernization efforts, and system roadmap planning.
  • Maintain current knowledge of enterprise applications, automation platforms, integrations, and AI-enabled technologies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of development standards and best practices.

DOCUMENTATION AND TRAINING

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, configurations, process flows, and support materials.
  • Generate reports on system performance, issues, and enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation standards and best practices.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training to system administrators, support staff, and end users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary to support the ongoing needs and evolving objectives of the firm and department.

  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, systems integration, APIs, data flows, and automation technologies.
  • Hands-on experience configuring Dynamics 365 and Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with relational databases, data modeling, SQL, and data management best practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
